As the AVUSI XPONENTIAL Drone conference at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas wraps up, we'd like to take a break and talk about how awesome it was! There was so much learning and networking packed into one week that it will be something we continue to draw from as an organization.
The four day conference opened with a keynote address from Brian Wynne, CEO of AVUSI and drone advocate spoke of where the future of the industry is headed in both commercial applications and public policy. Currently AVUSI hosts the largest trade show for the unmanned systems and robotics industry.
Intel Corp CEO, Brian Krzanich spoke on Tuesday to a packed audience. The unmanned systems industry, and especially the data they are able to collect is shaping the future. On stage with Krzanich was an unmanned robot who brought him a bottle of water, navigated the stage and wowed the audience. Krzanich believes that the data will be key as we move toward a future of "smart" products and machines that are not only helpful but essential to our way of life. One example of this is Intel's Falcon 8+ drone which conducted a simulated inspection of a mock bridge within minutes, this type of project done by human inspectors would have taken days included a much higher risk factor. Drones can be used in cases of natural disaster, able to go where rescue teams may not be able to reach in search and recovery.

We enjoyed seeing so many new innovations in the UAS industry and can't wait to take what we've learned back to our great state!
